Description: Surgical augmentation of the breast is performed by using a silicone gel implant that is placed beneath the breast tissue or the muscle, depending on the existing shape of the breasts. This technique involves the use of a small tube inserted underneath the skin either through a navel or bikini incision. Using a video monitor, the implants are delivered to the breast area and then inflated with saline. The outer part of the FDA approved implant is made up of silicone in a flexible, rubber like state. During a consultation, Dr. Ftaiha will have a patient “try-on” different size implants to see which ones will suit her best. The surgery is performed with local anesthesia.
